Your files. With you.
Open your encrypted ballot or case file on this device, even without internet after setup.
Read your files without internet
No separate app is required. While online, press Make Available Offline to keep this reader in your browser, then bookmark this page.
Optional: add a Home Screen icon
On iPhone, use Safari’s Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android, use Install app or Add to Home screen. Open the new icon while online and press Make Available Offline there too.
Offline setup has not been checked in this browser.
Check it before you need it
After setup says ready, turn on airplane mode, reopen the reader from your bookmark or icon, and open a saved file. Keep your password separately. Clearing website data or removing the reader can remove offline access; set it up again while online if that happens. Keep the encrypted file in Files or Downloads.
Open My Saved File
Choose your .bbbackup ballot file or .bbcase case file from Files or Downloads. Your file and password stay on this device.
In the file window, choose Downloads. On iPhone, tap Choose File → Browse → Downloads if shown. If you saved your file elsewhere, choose that folder instead.
This password locks your file. No account or username is needed.
If your device asks to save a password
That is your device’s password manager. Choose Not Now to dismiss it and continue with your file. This does not cancel your BallotBar backup.
Can I use another browser or device?
Yes. Bring your saved encrypted file and its password, open BallotBar, and choose the file. Your file is not tied to a browser, device or IP address. BallotBar can read only the file you choose here; the reader does not upload it.
Use a regular browser window for offline setup. Private or Incognito mode can remove its saved website data when the session ends. Keep the encrypted file in Files or Downloads, and set up offline access separately in each browser or Home Screen reader you want to use.
